Producer | Storytelling with Purpose | Championing Humanity & Social Justice through Film
About
Sam Heim is a half-Japanese woman who uses she/her pronouns. Sam previously worked as an in-house producer for the outdoor industry for four years, at Petzl, and worked on two, Sundance premiered, non-fiction shorts: Meet Me Where I Am and Winding Path. She is now committed to telling the raw, intimate and vulnerable stories of the complex human condition through documentary filmmaking. Dedicated to various forms of filmmaking, Sam also directed and produced her first festival-accepted dance film, September. Finding joy in the dirty, chaotic moments, with the shy stranger and convoluted logistics, Sam has a quiet fire to share the truth and beauty of this fragile existence. She is currently associate producer for the feature-length documentary, We Arrive With Fire, about cultural forest burning on Ancestral lands.
