Frequently Asked Questions

Project Pages, from Video Consortium, is a vetted digital showcase for nonfiction film and video projects in progress, from feature documentaries to shorts and series. It gives creators a seamless, visually stunning way to present their work to the public and industry professionals, and gives producers, distributors, and investors a centralized hub to discover and connect with exceptional nonfiction talent.

Any Video Consortium member who is directly involved with a documentary film project in any stage of development, production, or post-production can create a Project Page. Whether you’re an independent director or part of a larger production house, Project Pages offers a professional home for your work-in-progress.

Project Pages lets filmmakers and creators easily share all key materials – loglines, treatments, trailers, bios, and progress updates – in one elegant, linkable space. Instead of repeatedly sending decks and files, creators can simply update their page and keep partners, funders, and press up to date automatically. It’s built to save time while amplifying visibility in the nonfiction community.

Industry decision makers, including distributors, funders, commissioning editors, and festival programmers, can browse, search, and follow nonfiction projects across formats and regions. Each Project Page provides insight into creative vision, production status, and the creative team, making it an easy way to discover new voices and track promising works in development.

To view all Project Pages you will need to register for a free Industry Account. Industry Accounts are not available to individuals whose primary work is on directing and producing their own films.

An Industry Account allows you to see any private Project Pages and access details not available to the general public. It also allows you to save Project Pages to easily return to them later.

We created Project Pages as a way for creators to more easily share their works in progress and find support to bring them to completion.

We know that pitch materials can have proprietary or even sensitive information that creators want to keep relatively restricted. This is why creators can set their Project Page to private, making it viewable only by logged in Industry Account holders.

With Project Pages we wanted to provide a way for creators to share their materials easily with anyone they chose, and be found by funders, distributors, and other decision makers, while still giving them the option to keep their project information more private if they choose.

Anyone can browse the Project Page directory, viewing the title and logline for all available projects, and view any publicly available Project Pages. If you see a project you would like to learn more about, and it has been set to Industry only, you can click on the Get In Touch button and email the Project Page owner directly.

A full Project Page can be viewed two ways. The first is if the creator has made their Project Page public. This makes the page viewable for anyone. The second, for pages that are set to private, is by anyone who is logged in with an Industry Account.

When you created your Project Page you selected a custom URL. To easily access this link, head to My Projects and click the “eye” icon on your project’s thumbnail. This will let you preview your Project Page, and the web address displayed in your browser is your custom URL.

This URL allows you to share your page - you can send it via email, post it on social media, and include it on any promotional materials for your project. Anyone you share it with can see your full Project Page without needing to login.

If you would like to keep your Project Page private, select "No" when asked if you want to make the page public in Settings sections of the page builder. This settings hides the page contents to everyone except logged in Industry Account holders.

Project Pages highlights a wide range of nonfiction storytelling: feature documentaries, shorts, series, video journalism, hybrid work and more. The focus is always on factual, real-world stories told with cinematic craft and journalistic integrity.
