Urban Canvas: From the Underground Up

From the streets that birthed Hip-Hop to the walls that became its voice — Urban Canvas: From the Underground Up is a documentary celebrating the art, culture, and legacy of graffiti. This film takes you to East Harlem, home of the iconic Graffiti Hall of Fame, where rhythm met resistance and paint spoke louder than words. Born in the shadows of the city, graffiti became a language — a language of survival, a language of defiance. Every tag carried a heartbeat. Every wall became a message the world couldn’t ignore. 🎨 Urban Canvas is a story painted in rhythm, color, and truth — featuring Hip-Hop legends, graffiti pioneers, and new voices shaping the next generation of street art. Where creativity and rebellion collide, the walls themselves become storytellers — vibrant, untamed, and alive. From underground tunnels to global galleries, these artists turned concrete into living canvases. They painted survival. They painted freedom. They painted us. Filmed at the legendary Graffiti Hall of Fame, Urban Canvas preserves the untold history of a movement that never stopped moving — reminding us that art is resistance, and resistance is legacy. 🎬 Urban Canvas: From the Underground Up. Where walls speak… and the culture never fades. 🎥 Film Credits Directed by: José M. Pichardo Jr. Produced by: Pichardo Productions, LLC & Pichardo Creative Collective, Inc.
