Myah Overstreet is an emerging filmmaker based in Oakland, California. Her area of focus is in culture and social inequalities among marginalized communities. She is dedicated to amplifying untold stories.
Her documentary film roles include work as an associate producer on BLACK MOTHERS LOVE & RESIST, which premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival, and THE HIGHEST STANDARD, a forthcoming documentary feature. Most notably, her work as a production assistant on the film HOMEROOM is currently streaming on Hulu.
Myah’s written work has appeared in The Washington Post, YES! Magazine, The California Health Report, Oaklandside, and The Richmond Pulse.
In May of 2023, Myah will be graduating from the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley with a master's degree in journalism.
