Melissa Bueno-Woerner is a Latinx Freelance Producer based in Brooklyn with over eight years of experience creating engaging and impactful non-fiction content for various platforms and audiences. She has worked on creating a wide range of content in the US and abroad, from documentaries/doc-series to short-form non-fiction content for streaming networks, cable, digital, and creative agencies. Her work has covered a range of topics, including immigrant rights, LGBTQ issues, climate activism, food justice, AI, and refugee rights.
Melissa holds a BA in International Studies from the University of Washington and has a passion for telling stories that amplify diverse voices and perspectives. She previously worked as the Program Director at an NGO creating and leading a program for LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers in South Africa and as a Freelance Journalist covering Myanmar's military dictatorship. Melissa is actively seeking opportunities in the documentary, news, and the wider non-fiction media field, where she can apply her skills and expertise to produce compelling and meaningful content.
