Martina de Alba is a leading visual artist from Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
As a content creator in the digital and television spaces, she has
produced, directed and edited for some of the most groundbreaking
documentary and short form programming including National
Geographic's Behind The Shot, the New York Times’ Cancer Refugees
and the Webby Award-Nominated project The Making Of Loop - 60 Hz:
Transmissions From The Drone Orchestra. Martina got her start in
production as an Assistant Editor at VICE Media and quickly rose through
the post-production ranks through her tenure from 2010 to 2016. Soon
after, she switched gears to host VICE Does America, a political
exploration docu-series that examined the cultural climate leading up to
the 2016 Presidential Election.
It wasn’t long before Martina moved back behind the camera to develop,
produce and edit short documentaries for major networks and
publications including CBS, National Geographic, The New York Times
and more. Currently, Martina serves as a director/producer/editor for the
digital media platform BESE, created by Zoe Saldana. In this role, she
supports Saldana with building the production slate and exposing
compelling stories of color.
When Martina is not crafting digital series, she is working on an
experimental video art installation entitled Immigrants for Life. She loves
to play drums with her band Kimxi, and looks forward to her expansion as
a documentarian and all around storyteller.
