About
Lauren To’omalatai is the Artist Foundry Manager at the Utah Film Center. She brings a decade of experience in community building and film organizing specifically with the Utah Pacific Islander population. In 2019 Lauren spearheaded the Utah Pacific Island Film Series and co-founded the Māsima Film Festival with the Salt Lake Film Society which she continues to lead as a programmer and Festival Director.
Lauren’s work as a filmmaker and screenwriter has granted her fellowships with imagineNATIVE, Visual Communications, and most recently with the Pasifika Entertainment Advancement Komiti. She is committed to remaining a bridge to resources and opportunities as an advocate for the Pacific Islander community, and other underrepresented and underserved communities, and is eager to expand on that work in her role with the Utah Film Center.
