I've been working in commercial and documentary film as a director, cinematographer, and editor for the last decade, producing work for national brands as well as short non-fiction and narrative projects. As a filmmaker, I'm drawn to telling people stories — focusing on and exploring what moves us, what connects us, and how we make our way in the world. I'm a capable verité shooter but love lighting interviews, too.
I have an MFA in Documentary Film from Wake Forest University. I graduated from the University of California Berkeley summa cum laude with a B.A. in English and also hold a professional certificate in Digital Storytelling & Content Strategy from the University of Washington.
I'm also involved in arts orgs: as the Community Engagement and Education Coordinator at RiverRun International Film Festival, I brings film and media education into classrooms in the Piedmont Triad. Prior to film, I worked in advertising as a copywriter and creative director with a special interest in nonprofit clients. A California native, I relocated to North Carolina in 2021. My wife and I have two kids and a rowdy rescue pit bull named Juanita.
