I've been working in commercial and documentary film as a director, cinematographer, and editor for the last decade, producing work for national brands as well as short non-fiction and narrative projects. As a filmmaker, I'm drawn to telling people stories — focusing on and exploring what moves us, what connects us, and how we make our way in the world. I'm a capable verité shooter but love lighting interviews, too. I have an MFA in Documentary Film from Wake Forest University and graduated from the University of California Berkeley summa cum laude with a B.A. in English. I also hold a professional certificate in Digital Storytelling & Content Strategy from the University of Washington. I'm currently a videographer at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and an adjunct professor, teaching film at Wake Forest University.

The mostly elderly residents of a Winston-Salem public housing high-rise apartment building band together to form Crystal Towers United, a tenant's union whose aim is to fight for better living conditions. A leader in Crystal Towers United, resident Michael Douglas plans to speak at an upcoming City Council meeting where he will make the case for increased attention on the conditions at Crystal Towers, while also unveiling the next phase in the union's efforts to get what they — and other poor and struggling tenants across the city — deserve.
