Giacomo (Jeff) Pizzo is Bay Area born and based in San Francisco. He studied fine arts and earned a Master's in Digital Media, focusing on video installation and multilinear storytelling.
He had an extensive career as a user experience and visual designer, collaborating with marketing teams and learning to listen to what people actually need. Eventually filmmaking pulled him back, and everything he'd learned along the way made him a more complete filmmaker.
His style is observational. He lets the character and their story dictate the approach, tapping into what they're feeling and finding a visual way to represent that.
Now he makes documentary films and branded content, comfortable managing every part of production from shooting to editing. He's used to working with small budgets, and finds that when throwing money at a problem isn't an option, the constraint often makes the work better.
