Flávia de Souza is a Brazilian documentary film editor. She edited AFTERSHOCK, winner of the Impact for Change Special Jury Award at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. She was also the editor of the Academy Award-nominated short documentary OPEN HEART, and the Emmy Award-winning film ARMED WITH FAITH. Her work also includes RAZING LIBERTY SQUARE, BOYCOTT, and SONG OF LAHORE. Flávia is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and has been a mentor with the Karen Schmeer Fellowship, Brown Girls Doc Mafia and The Video Consortium. Flávia lives in Brooklyn, and received a MFA in Photography and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts.
