About

E.J. Enríquez's work encompasses a variety of genres and formats that have screened around the world. His approach to authentic storytelling, years of experience from lensing feature documentaries, TV series, narrative films and commercials for big name brands shows his broad range of skillsets and leadership. He also co-owns Shorthand Camera, an Austin based camera rental house that prioritizes community and coalition for other filmmakers. While at the University of Texas at Austin, the RTF Department nominated him for the Kodak Scholarship Program for Excellence in Cinematography. His work on Beth Chatelain's "My Sister Sarah" won the David L. Wolper Award at the prestigious International Documentary Association Awards. Before HBO acquired Jenifer McShane's "Ernie & Joe: Crisis Cops", it won a SXSW '19 Jury Award. Most recent work available to stream are MSNBC's "Leguizamo Does America" S2, HBO/Jigsaw's "God Save Texas" and HBO/A24's "The Yogurt Shop Murders". Collaborations with directors include the legendary Texas filmmaker Richard Linklater, Alex Gibney, Iliana Sosa, Ben DeJesus, Alex Winter, Jenifer McShane, Margaret Brown, Maisie Crow among many others. As much as E.J. loves talking about himself (he doesn’t), you can see him chasing light on his Moto Guzzi around Austin.
