Derek Brown is a director, producer, editor, and creative based in NYC and working all over the world. For more than a decade he has worked with artists, filmmakers, agencies, and brands to tell stories that inspire, excite, and enlighten.

Derek Brown is a multidisciplinary filmmaker, creative, and producer, who is passionate about immersing himself in new environments and cultures to expand his horizons. He has worked in over 15 countries and has a keen interest in telling international stories that illustrate the complexity of the human experience while simultaneously showing how we are all connected.
Throughout his career, he has worked in every department and almost every type of video content. Now primarily a director and producer, he started out as an Assistant Editor and Camera Assistant, worked his way up both departments, and became a DP and Lead Editor at a content studio based in Jersey, Malka Media.
After he helped a friend bootstrap an indie feature in Upstate New York, he was hooked and decided to go freelance. He has been working independently ever since, running his own boutique content studio that creates impact pieces for brands and NGO's, and working on original docuseries and features as a producer and editor.
