Chris James is a documentary filmmaker and independent journalist who has over 16 years in nonfiction video.
He recently produced the documentary feature Give Me the Ball! about the legendary Billie Jean King, directed by Liz Garbus and Elizabeth Wolff.
Chris has also produced two premium sports doc-series for Apple TV — The Dynasty: New England Patriots and Messi’s World Cup: Rise of a Legend.
After graduating from NYU’s journalism school in 2011, he was hired by the executive producer of ABC's Good Morning America to be an assistant. From there he worked his way up to becoming a producer for Nightline.
In 2017, Chris was hired to help launch a digital channel for CNN, where he produced dozens of mini-documentaries on a wide range of topics: from the migrant crisis in Mexico, to video game addiction, and the legacy of racial violence in America.
