Based in New York, Bob Ahern is the Director of Archive Photography for Getty Images and has been with the company 26 years. Bob is responsible for the Archive’s overarching content strategy, which includes overview of the archive’s 150 million images, 4000 contributing photographers and supporting an adjacent 3.1M hours of footage.
Acting as custodian of the collection, Bob also manages the Archives presence across Getty Images editorial platform, oversees new photographer and collection signings as well as the editing of analogue house collections through a team of senior editors – adding thousands of images each month to Getty Images global archival offering of defining cultural moments.
