I am a documentary filmmaker, photographer and impact investor. I focus primarily on the intersection of climate, development, identity and migration with the aim of empowering local communities in storytelling.
About
Aparna Rao is a photographer and documentary filmmaker working in analogue and digital formats. Reflecting on her own diasporic and transnational experiences, her work focuses on exploring themes of resilience, urban/rural landscapes, migration, family, livelihoods and individual/collective identity through still and moving image. She holds a BA/MA from Columbia University and a Certificate in Documentary filmmaking from UCL.
