Michael Guidry was named Mississippi Todays managing editor in February 2024, following four years in the news division at Mississippi Public Broadcasting where he developed skills in audio storytelling as a producer, writer and editor. At Mississippi Today, he was part of the team that participated in VC’s Video Incubator program. He’s since written and co-produced MT’s “Outlasted the Confederacy” series. He and colleague Richard Lake also retooled the publication’s interview series Mississippi Stories. A native of Destrehan, Louisiana, Michael moved to central Mississippi to attend Millsaps College where he earned a dual Bachelor of Arts in History in Theatre. After graduating, he worked as a public school teacher for over a decade. Show Less
