Michael Guidry

Director & Producer

Michael Guidry was named Mississippi Todays managing editor in February 2024, following four years in the news division at Mississippi Public Broadcasting where he developed skills in audio storytelling as a producer, writer and editor. At Mississippi Today, he was part of the team that participated in VC’s Video Incubator program. He’s since written and co-produced MT’s “Outlasted the Confederacy” series. He and colleague Richard Lake also retooled the publication’s interview series Mississippi Stories. A native of Destrehan, Louisiana, Michael moved to central Mississippi to attend Millsaps College where he earned a dual Bachelor of Arts in History in Theatre. After graduating, he worked as a public school teacher for over a decade.
