For tens of thousands of years, humans have used music to connect and belong. Echoes of Legends examines the power of experiencing familiar music live: what it does for our brains, our communities and our humanity, reminding us why the music we love must live on in an increasingly digital world.

Our Ask

I have spent the past year building ECHOES OF LEGENDS from the ground up and filming artists and audiences around the country. What started as a film about tribute artists has become a much bigger story about music, memory, aging and why we still need to experience music together.

The timing of the film feels especially important. We are watching a generation age alongside the music that has been part of their lives for decades, while AI, holograms and other technologies are quickly changing the way we may experience performers in the future. Somewhere between those two things is a very human question: what can a live experience give us that technology can't?

I have already filmed a significant portion of the documentary and built relationships with artists, venues, scientists and communities across the country. The film is very much underway. Now I need the support to finish it.

I am looking for financing, producing partners and industry relationships that can help us complete production and move into post-production. I am also looking for partners who understand the potential audience for the film and can help position it for festivals and distribution.

There are still important pieces of the story left to film, including our neuroscience research and the film's exploration of where live performance goes next. Funding at this stage goes directly toward completing those shoots, travel, crew, music licensing, storage and post-production.

I have seen what happens when this music starts playing in a room full of people. They light up. They sing. They remember. They talk to strangers. Sometimes they cry. That experience is the reason I am making this film, and I want to finish it while these artists, audiences and stories are still here to be documented.

We are seeking:

  • Funding,
  • Co-Production Partners,
  • International Co-Production,
  • Press Agent,
  • Publication Partner,
  • In Kind Partnerships
