About

Konstantinos Antonopoulos is a senior video producer and data journalist at Al Jazeera English. He is a member of the AJ Labs interactives and data journalism team, working in both text and video formats, and is based in Athens, Greece. He produces Al Jazeera’s "By the Numbers" social media video series which uses animated infographics to break down the context behind the most important news stories. He previously worked as Creative Director for ERT, Greece’s public broadcaster. He led the design of the interactive website, Palestine Remix, which allows users to tell their own stories of Palestine, in 2015, and co-developed the "Newsgrid", Al Jazeera’s digital newshour programme. In addition to his reporting, he writes and presents training content and online journalism courses for the Al Jazeera Media Institute. Konstantinos was part of the team which won a Webby Award and two Online Media Awards for Palestine Remix, and also won a Webby for his social video, “The Rohingya crisis through the eyes of Al Jazeera’s journalists” in 2019. He won the United Nations Correspondents' Silver Award for the interactive story, “Beyond the Beach” - about the aftermath of Sri Lanka’s civil war - in 2015.
